The Role
We’re seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Winnipeg-based Electrical Department. In this role, you’ll assist with electrical design of multi-disciplinary projects. You’ll work with experienced engineers and subject matter experts designing the project to completion.
You will be part of a team conducting technical work for various studies, engineering designs, preparation of construction drawings and specifications, and carrying out inspections. You will be working in a collaborative environment with a great team of engineers, technicians, scientists, and other industry-leading peers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide electrical design for small to large industrial and hydroelectric projects
- Work in a team environment with our other electrical department personnel and administrative staff, assisting with the preparation of construction drawings, documents, and reports
- Perform calculations
- Witness inspections and support project work on site as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized university; a post graduate degree would be an asset
- Must be registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer in Training with EGM (Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba)
- Previous consulting experience is an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code and other relevant codes and standards is an asset
- Availability to periodically travel to project sites on an as required basis for ½ day or 1-day site visits, typically for data collection, review of construction or attendance at coordination or design review meetings
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability/willingness to undergo security clearance checks
- Ability to adapt to and meet the challenges of a variety of different projects from clients in many different industries
